Greece Busted Arrest Records
Roughly 96,926 people called Greece home in the 2020 Census. Policing the town falls to the Greece Police Department, known locally as GPD. That agency is the natural first stop for an arrest report. Monroe County Jail reports answer a narrower question. They show whether someone was actually lodged in county custody on a given day. The two records are not the same thing. Treating them as interchangeable leads to confusion.
No official daily GPD arrest log exists. There is no new-bookings view either. No booking-photo feed has been verified. A Greece arrest can land a person in the county jail. It can just as easily end in a quick release, an appearance ticket, a transfer, or a protected or sealed matter that never shows up the same way. Charges can also change course later in court, through reduction or dismissal.
Greece Busted Mugshot Channels
Plain talk helps here. The official channels are few, but each one has a clear job. GPD does not publish a verified daily booking-photo page. Period. The county jail posts current and recent custody information as generated text PDFs. Those documents carry no booking photos. News stories and the one verified county aggregator add color. Yet neither stands in for the agency record itself.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | Record or purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Greece Police Department | No daily photo feed verified | Official | Police contact, records route, and most-wanted information |
| MCJ roster and census | No photos observed | Official | Current county custody at the report time |
| MCJ received report | No photos observed | Official | Recent admission in its displayed generated view |
| MCJ released report | No photos observed | Official | Release from MCJ during the shown window |
| 13WHAM Local | Varies by story | Secondary | Event-driven Greece and Rochester-area reporting |
| Mugshots.com Monroe County | May display images | Unofficial | Historical or aggregated county entries, not a GPD feed |
Just because no photo appears online does not mean none exists. New York's Public Officers Law ยง89(2)(b)(viii) restricts disclosure of law-enforcement arrest or booking photographs. You can file a focused records request. Just know that no routine photo release is promised.
Find Greece Booking Records
Match your question to the right record custodian first. GPD keeps the town police side of things. MCJ reports can show someone lodged in the jail. They miss plenty of Greece arrests, though, and display no public booking photographs. One practical habit: jot down the date and time printed on a PDF before trusting any custody entry.
- Contact GPD for the town police record or use its FOIL route with a name, approximate date, and the narrow record sought.
- Open the current MCJ roster and use the PDF find function for a last name or known JID.
- Review the MCJ census for detailed custody, agency, court, bail, and charge fields when they are populated.
- Use the received and released reports only for their displayed windows. Admission, current custody, and release are different statuses.
- For an outcome, check NY Courts e-Courts where available and then the appropriate court. An online absence can reflect sealing, youthful-offender treatment, or recording delay.
For a deeper look at county report fields, current-report timing, and the FOIL fallback, the Monroe County records overview spells it out. One timing note from the jail itself. MCJ updates its roster and census daily, Monday through Friday. Not minute by minute.
Greece Police Booking Records
Want an arrest report or another GPD-held record? File the Town of Greece FOIL form through the Town Clerk and Records Access Officer. Include the agency, the person's name, and an approximate incident or booking date. Add an MCJ or JID number if you have one. Ask for the specific public portion you need. A sweeping batch of photos and records rarely helps. The town's own policy lists several possible limits, including exceptions for law-enforcement investigation, fair trial concerns, confidential sources, juvenile matters, youthful offenders, E911 material, protected criminal history, and safety.
Inspecting records costs nothing under the town form. Copies generally run $0.25 per listed page size, or actual cost if higher. No published booking-photo turnaround exists. County-held booking records and photo requests go to Monroe County Communications Department, Records Access Officer, 108 County Office Building, 39 West Main Street, Rochester, NY 14614, or (585) 753-1080. The New York privacy rule still governs any photo release.
Greece Busted Wanted List
GPD's home page carries a live "GPD's Most Wanted" list. Each listing gives name, date of birth, height, weight, and charges. There is no fixed refresh schedule. So treat the count as a moving target. Think of it as a tip channel, not a recent-arrest roster or a jail census.
Tips go to (585) 581-4016 or GPDTips@GreeceNY.gov. The department warns the public not to approach anyone listed. Emergencies belong to 911. The county's Most Wanted Fugitives page sorts an official wanted listing apart from the separate work of checking an agency process, a court case, or current MCJ custody.
The list serves only the purpose the department gives it. It will not tell you whether someone on it has since been arrested, sits in MCJ custody, has a court date coming, or has reached a final disposition. Use the dated MCJ reports for a possible county-jail stay. Use the court for case information, since a wanted-list field can never settle an outcome.
Greece Busted Custody Timing
The Monroe County Jail publishes several reports, and each one answers a different question. A received report covers recent admissions. It lists the JID, name, date of birth, booking date and time, and short charge codes. The roster is a slimmer snapshot of who is in custody right now. A census report goes deeper, adding fields like arresting agency, court, bail or bond, classification, and fuller charge descriptions. There is also a released report, which tracks a facility-release window. None of these files include booking photographs.
Timing is the part that trips people up. No official source promises that a Greece arrest will show up in a county report within a set number of hours. The received report is generated fresh each time someone pulls it. It is not a 24-hour archive you can count on. Rows disappear when a person is released, moved, or when a newer report replaces the older one. If you need an older version for something that matters, note its date and request that exact report through FOIL.
One more caution on labels. Do not treat an MCJ row as proof of an immigration matter without an official record behind it. The MCSO immigration-practice statement explains the legal line between criminal cases and federal civil immigration enforcement.
Greece Busted News Coverage
Start with official agency material before anything else. The MCSO news-release index posts Sheriff announcements as events happen, though it does not capture every GPD incident. The Zone Blotter notice says weekly publication is paused. It points readers to newer releases. Neither one works as a daily booking feed for the jail or the town.
Local outlets fill in the rest for newsworthy Greece events. WHEC, 13WHAM, Spectrum News 1 Rochester, and the Democrat and Chronicle all run event-driven coverage. Be careful with pictures, though. A story image may come from the agency, the scene, a press conference, or a file photo rather than a booking shot. Coverage can also lag or miss things. Check with the responsible police agency and the later court record.
Mugshots.com stands out among aggregators for having a verified Monroe County page. Greece-connected material may appear there. That still does not mean complete GPD coverage, a current time window, or any person's actual custody status. Other services checked had no verified Monroe section at all. Keep these unofficial listings apart from official records, and never copy their images onto another page.
